There is a critical need for improved diagnosis of tuberculosis in children and for standardized clinical case definitions for the evaluation of diagnostics in clinical research studies. In the two attached articles, a panel of experts aimed to (1) develop standardized clinical research case definitions and  (2) address methodological issues to consider for research of diagnostics in children with suspected tuberculosis.
