About: An experienced molecular microbiologist with leadership and research skills. Passionate researcher in the field of molecular diagnostics and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases and bioinformatics. The development of molecular and serological assays for emerging and re-emerging pathogens is of high interest. Special interests are in vaccine design and evaluation of vaccine effectiveness. He has more than 17 years of experience, obtained several grants from the Government of India funding agencies, and has published research papers in reputed national and international journals. He is now working as a Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (Saveetha University), Chennai, India. He teaches microbiology to undergraduates, and postgraduates of Dentistry and Life Sciences students and undertakes many internally- and externally-funded research projects. He has so far guided 3 PhD students and continues to train more PhDs to come.
