American Society for Microbiology:
Free, online laboratory protocols 

- Fondation Merieux:
Independent foundation dedicated to fight infectious diseases that affect developing countries. It is currently present in a dozen countries and it aims to contribute to global health by strengthening local capacities of developing countries to reduce the impact of infectious diseases on vulnerable populations.

- GABRIEL network (Global Approach for Biological Research on Infectious Epidemics in Low Income countries):
Created in 2008 by Fondation Mérieux, the GABRIEL Network is an international non-profit network dedicated to research and training in the field of laboratory-based surveillance of infectious diseases.
- Globe Network:
Globe is a portal launched by the Fondation with the aim of improving and reinforcing biomedical expertise and networking. The portal provides several e-tools: e-network, e-learning, online resources as well as news and announcements information.

- East Africa Public Health Laboratory Network Project (EAPHLN):
This project aims to establish a network of efficient, high quality, accessible public health laboratories for the diagnosis and surveillance of Tuberculosis (TB) and other communicable diseases in East Africa.

- INASP:
It is is an international development charity working to improve access, production and use of research information and knowledge in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It provides access to research articles, training courses, help publishing research (AuthorAID). 

- AuthorAID:
It is a free international research community that supports developing country researchers in publishing and communicating their work. It is also a wider forum to discuss and disseminate research.

- International Diagnostics Centre:
The mission of the IDC at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is to facilitate the development, evaluation and implementation of accessible, quality assured in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs) for global health through information sharing and advocacy.

- Equator Network (Enhancing the QUAlity and Transparency Of health Research):
This network is an international initiative that seeks to improve the reliability and value of published health research literature by promoting transparent and accurate reporting and wider use of robust reporting guidelines.
It is the first coordinated attempt to tackle the problems of inadequate reporting systematically and on a global scale; it advances the work done by individual groups over the last 15 years.

- Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL):
The Association of Public Health Laboratories works to strengthen laboratories serving the public's health in the US and globally. This link takes you to their publications and resources website.

Free online courses, interactive training courses and expert advice to support publishing of journal articles.

- SLMTA:
Launched in 2009, Strengthening Laboratory Management Toward Accreditation (SLMTA), a structured quality improvement program, teaches laboratory managers how to implement practical quality management systems in resource-limited settings using available resources. With a series of short courses and work-based improvement projects supported by site visits and mentoring, SLMTA is designed to achieve immediate, measurable improvement in laboratories. Since its launch, it has been implemented in some 617 laboratories in 47 countries worldwide.
